Ourc Mens Senior 8+ Nominated For 2009 Otago Sports Team Of The Year

The Otago University mens senior 8 has been nominated for the 2009 Otago Sports Team of the Year at the annual Otago Sports Awards. The 2009 crew won the Hebberley shield for a record 8th time in a row and also won an invitational international university regatta in China where they defeated such universities as Yale. The Otago Sports Awards are a highly prestigious event with the likes of World champion cyclist Alison Shanks winning the title of sports woman of the year in 2008. The winner will be announced on the 21st of May at an awards dinner. Good luck to the crew we hope they can take it out!
